The Katran assault knife remains one of the most popular among Russian military personnel involved in the counter-terrorism operation in the Chechen Republic. Originally designed for combat divers, it has also been appreciated by soldiers from other special forces units in the army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Long (180 mm) blade "Katrana" allows you to apply piercing and chopping blows. Cast steel (the strength of the knife is legendary) and the wavy sharpening of the butt allow it to be used as a universal saw. The handle, inside which is placed a sealed pencil case under the NAZ (wearable emergency reserve), has pommels for applying traumatic blows.

In addition to "Katran", special combat knives HP-2 (scout knife), "Cobra", "Bulat" and "Werewolf"are popular among special forces and scouts. HP-2, by the way, is the only one of all combat knives that has a shooting modification: instead of NAZ, a special device is mounted in the handle that allows silent shooting at a distance of up to 25 m.
